Robert Edward Kerr

Robert E. Kerr was born September 20, 1928 in Mayfield, Oklahoma to George and Elsie (Alexander) Kerr. He passed away March 22, 2014 at Clinton, Oklahoma at the age of 85 years, 6 months and 2 days.

Robert grew up in the Mayfield and Sweetwater communities where he also attended school. After graduation, he enlisted in the US Navy and retired after 22 years of service. After his discharge, he made his home in Alabama where he worked in a metal foundry for over 20 years before returning to Oklahoma to care for his parents and settling in Erick in the community. Robert loved working with his hands and enjoyed working on engines and doing carpentry work.

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, an infant brother, Billy, and a sister, Laura Williams.

He is survived by his 2 sisters, Georgia Reed, Sweetwater, OK and Norma Cook, Amarillo, TX; 1 brother, Eddie Kerr, Amarillo, TX; a stepson, Robert Scott, Alabama and many nieces, nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.

Private services to be held at a later date. Arrangements are under the direction of Fatheree-Albert Funeral Services of Erick. Condolences can be made online at www.whineryfs.com
