Blue Springs, MO - Rodney Lester Kern, 84, of Blue Springs, MO, passed away August 27, 2021. Born January 1, 1937 in Ochelata, OK to Lester and Lillian (Roe) Kern. He is survived by his sister Virginia Liddle; his children Kris Kern, Kevin Kern, Kari Stewart, Kraig Kern; his grandchildren Kaleb Kern, Jared Kern, Amber Dawson, Kyla Alumbaugh, Courtney Kern, Emily Stewart, Ian Kern; great-grandchildren Leralei Kern, Bhren Dawson, Zoey and Paxton Alumbaugh.
From graduating in 1955, he joined the military and served overseas in Europe for two years. When he returned, he married Brenda (Ryan) and were united for 25 years. He worked at the GM Lead's assembly plant during the '60s. Most people will remember him most for running the OK Wheel Alignment shop which he started in 1971 until he retired in 2000.
He had a love for automobiles throughout his life and enjoyed racing at KCIR. He enjoyed the outdoors, watching wildlife and trap shooting. He was so easy going and always willing to lend a helping hand.
He will surely be missed.
