Leo "Pat" Kenneaster was born December 31, 1952 in Effingham, Illinois to Leo and Louise (Leach) Kenneaster. Pat spent his childhood in Toledo, Illinois, attending Toledo grade school and graduating from Cumberland High School. He then attended EIU in Louisville, Kentucky, until he decided to return home to take over the family grocery business, since his Dad was getting into politics.
At this time, he married the love of his life, Pamela James on July 29, 1972, at Liberty Hill, Illinois. They lived in Toledo until 1982 when they sold the store and moved to Woodward, Oklahoma. Pat embarked on a whole new adventure in various oilfield jobs where lifelong friendships were made. He loved the oilfield - being outside and the comradery with his co-workers. He later entered the propane business where he never met a stranger. He formed many strong bonds of friendships over all of Northwest Oklahoma.
In 2006, he went to work at Woodward County District 2 as a truck driver. He loved being in those big trucks listening to his music and always making plans for the next motorcycle trip or hunting adventure. He loved riding his Harleys, quail hunting, shooting sports, fishing, and anything outdoors. He was an avid Cardinals baseball fan and a Lifetime Endowment member of the NRA. He was very proud to be a 32nd degree Mason. He cherished his family and friends and they knew it.
Pat is survived by his wife Pam, his brothers Don Kenneaster and wife Donna of West Frankfort, IL, and Kim Kenneaster of Cheyenne, WY; sisters Jayne Ozier and husband Bill of Charleston, IL, Kristi Yocum and husband Dennis of Toledo, IL, Kelly Giesler and husband Jeff of Mt. Zion, IL, Kerry Hatfill and husband Brad of Lewistown, IL, aunts Jane Williams and husband Al of Woodward, OK and Helen Sundstrom of Midwest City, OK, and uncle Richard Leach and wife Bonnie of Mutual, OK, many beloved nieces and nephews, and a host of friends.
He is preceded in death by his parents and sister Carolyn Woolever.
Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association through Shaw Funeral Home.
