William Eugene “Bill” Kemp

William Eugene “Bill” Kemp
December 21, 1947 ~ February 13, 2026

William “Bill” Eugene Kemp age 78 of Lexington, passed away on February 13, 2026 in Oklahoma City. Bill was born on December 21, 1947 in Purcell, Ok to William Kemp and Imogene Kemp (Yeary). He grew up in Purcell, attended school there, and graduated with the Dragon class of 1965.

After finishing school, he worked at a service station in town, held a few odd jobs, and went to work at Tinker. He found his true calling and career in the oil field, which he worked in for over forty years. Bill enjoyed spending time with his family, and always reminisced on good times growing up with siblings and cousins. He loved all things sports, and followed the Oklahoma Sooners and Thunder with a passion. He liked trips to the casino, and was a competitive pool player for a number of years. Bill always enjoyed finding a new diner to try, and had chicken and waffles wherever they were served.

Bill used his life as a recovering alcoholic as an example for friends and loved ones. He would willingly share the toll he knew alcoholism had taken on his life, and used it as a lesson to teach others, so that they might avoid the same hardship.

Bill was a beloved brother, uncle, and friend who will be dearly missed.

Bill was preceded in death by his parents William Kemp and Imogene Reynolds. His brothers Phillip Kemp and Ralph “Rufus” Kemp, and his sister Vanessa Larrimore.

He is survived by his siblings Terry Reynolds, Alice Reynolds, and LaVonda Reynolds of Oklahoma City. He also leaves behind numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, and several cousins.

Bill’s family will gather at a later time to celebrate his life.
