Mickey began this life August 13, 1942, in Hugo, OK the son of Claude and Jessie (Byars) Kelly. After graduating from high school, he went on to serve his country in the United States Marine Corps. After his service to the country and his honorable discharge, Mickey married the love of his life, Rosann Mendicki, on September 15, 1975, in Miami, OK. The two spent more than 47 wonderful years together.
Mickey worked in the publishing industry as an account representative. Over the years he worked for companies such as Newsweek, Ziff-Davis, and Davidson Titles. When he wasn’t out caring for clients or trying to get new ones, Mickey loved watching the OU Sooners and the L.A. Dodgers. He also loved playing golf and tending to his yard. But perhaps the thing that Mickey enjoyed most was spending time with his wife, children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
Mickey was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Ronald Kelly; and sisters, Roxie Spoonmore and Claudine Ahrens. Those left to cherish his memory are his wife, Rosann of the home; sons, Randy Kelly and wife Christina of San Antonio, TX and Shawn Kelly and wife Melissa of Henderson, NV; daughters, Laura Kelly-Rochette and husband Dave of Los Alamos, NM and Kathy Kelly-Adams of Colorado Springs, CO; 6 grandchildren; and 3 great-grandchildren.
Those who wish to honor Mickey’s memory through charitable donations are asked to remember Mercy Home Health or the Medical Equipment Assistance Program (MEAP) in Ardmore, OK. Donations can be sent c/o Flanagan-Watts Funeral Home, 100 E Main St., Marietta, OK 73448.
A keepsake video is available through the funeral home.
