George Allen Keith

January 2nd, 1937 ~ July 2, 2006

George Allen Keith was born on January 2nd, 1937 in Butler County, El Dorado, Kansas to Walter and Alberta [Wilson] Keith. He came from a family of six. George left home and was self-supporting at the age of 14. He married Margaret [Bingham] 36 years ago, May 28th, 1970.

He had a successful career in the oil industry for over 55 years. During that time, he also owned his own business three times, including K & H Well Service, Flowers Oil Service, and Texaco Service Station. George was working for Key Energy as a Rig Supervisor when he passed away. He worked with some great people, of whom he always spoke highly. He waited to apply for disability until June 18th, as he was determined to give his employer and family the best he could until he was no longer able.

George was baptized in 1979 in Augusta, KS. after Bible study with Charles and Jo Anne Renfro.

He leaves behind his wife Margaret at the home; four daughters Corrina Keith Brown and Morgan Ridgeway of Chickasha; Shana Keith-Ward of Oklahoma City; and George A. Brooks of El Reno; grandchildren Nathaniel Brown and Jerrette Chaney of Chickasha; George Keith, Ashleigh Keith and great grandchild Ashleigh R. Keith, all of El Reno; two sons-in-law, D. Brian Ward and Kevin Brooks; as well as many nieces and nephews. He also leaves many loving sisters-in-law and friends behind.

George was a very strong, loving, kind, and rare man in the way he handled even the hardest of times with courage and an even temper.

He is gone, but not forgotten, beloved husband, daddy, grandfather and friend. We will make sure his memory is kept alive through grandchildren and friends. We love and miss him so very much. We send our sincerest thanks to Dr. Linda Johnson of Chickasha, Dr. Brian Geister of Integris Baptist Medical Center in Oklahoma City, and Dr. Hampton of Integris Baptist for their compassion and care during this difficult time.

George Keith passed away on Sunday July 2, 2006. A memorial service will be held Friday, July 7 at 11 a.m. officiated by Mark Legg at the Church of Christ located at 329 S. Macomb Ave. in El Reno, OK.
