Roy Juntunen was born in Brimson, Minnesota, June 3, 1929 to Martha and Jack Juntunen. He lived on the family farm until the 6th grade when his family moved to Duluth. Roy graduated with honors from Central High School in 1947.
Roy worked in the logging industry for his brother, Art Juntunen, for a number of years before joining the United States Air Force. After serving for four years, Roy began his career at Western Electric in Duluth. He transferred to the Oklahoma City Western Electric plant in 1958 and retired after a successful thirty-year career. Roy continued to work with his son until his late eighties.
Roy was a faithful Catholic, a kind and gracious man with a servant’s heart. He was the epitome of the term, “The Greatest Generation.” He was an avid fisherman and king of the 5th wheel trailer.
Roy was preceded in death by Jean Juntunen, his loving wife of 53 years. He is survived by his son, Jeff Juntunen, one sister, and countless nieces and nephews.
Dear servant, rest now; your work on earth is done.
