Violet Ann Jones, daughter of John Newton and Dovie Mae (Dildine) Copeland, was born on March 29, 1924 in Baron, Oklahoma and passed from this life on April 16, 2016 in Fayetteville, Arkansas at the age of 92 years.
She enjoyed providing a safe, warm and loving home for her children and grandchildren. Violet enjoyed her family and the time spent with them. She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother.
Violet was preceded in death by her parents: John and Dovie Copeland, husband: John Paul Jones, brothers: Jerry, Joe, Nuke and Darrell Copeland, sisters: Maybelle, Marie and Carolyn.
A large and loving family survives her and includes her children: Mary Ann Lockhart and husband Larry, Elizabeth Lockhart and husband Tom, all of Lincoln, AR, Thomas Jones and wife Edna of Summers, AR, siblings: Roy Copeland, Gilbert Copeland and wife Betty, of Summers, Homer Copeland and wife Joeatta of Fayetteville, AR, sisters-in-law: Josie Copeland Taylor of Westville, OK, Shirley Copeland of Tulsa, OK, Beulah Jones of Arizona, 7 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren, 8 great-great grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews, many other relatives and friends.
Funeral services were held at 10 am on Tuesday, April 19, 2016 at Roberts & Hart Chapel, Westville, Oklahoma with David Cothren officiating. Interment followed at Ganderville Cemetery, Summers, Arkansas.
