Sue Nell (Trammell) Jones

December 29, 1935 ~ September 19, 2009

Sue Nell Trammell Jones was born December 29, 1935 in Reydon, Oklahoma to Lorene Harmon and R. L. Trammell. Our beloved mother and grandmother left this world September 19, 2009 at Oklahoma City after a brief illness surrounded by her family.

Sue grew up in Cheyenne, Oklahoma until she was married to William Wayne "Bill" Jones in Denton, Texas on June 13, 1964.

After their marriage they lived in Oklahoma City and Grapevine, Texas before moving back to Cheyenne and then to Elk City in 1987 to make their home.

She worked for the Library of Congress in Washington D.C., FAA in Oklahoma City and at the Elk City Tag Office until ill health forced her retirement.

She enjoyed gardening, canning and sewing but her greatest joy was spending time with her family and grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her father; husband; one daughter, Donna Sue Chastain; and two brothers, Robert and Bill Trammell.

She is survived by her daughter, Wendy Schneider and husband, Donald of Elk City, Oklahoma; one son, Scott Jones and wife, Liz of Elk City, Oklahoma; three grandchildren, Christen Westdyke of Elk City, Oklahoma; Elizibeth Sue Jones of Elk City, Oklahoma; Wayne Scott Jones II of Elk City, Oklahoma; her mother, Lorene Trammell Webb; one sister, Margie Rightmire of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; three sisters-in-law, Fern Trammell of Cheyenne, Oklahoma; Joyce Trammell of Cheyenne, Oklhahoma; Sharon Wilson of Paducah, Kentucky; Shirley Purdy of Madisonville, Kentucky; and a host of other relatives and friends.
