Nancy Jones, age 70, residence of rural Dewey, OK passed away Saturday, February 13, 2016 after a brief illness.
A private family service will be held at a later time.
Nancy Carter was born July 3, 1945 in Bartlesville, OK to Raymond and Laverna (Laramore) Carter. Nancy received her education in Bartlesville school system.
After graduating high school Nancy worked for Southwestern Bell Telephone Co. until 1977, when the company moved to Tulsa. Nancy quit working to be with her husband and family. Nancy and Bob were married September 1, 1972. Nancy had a ready made family that she loved dearly, Bob, Jr., Tanna and Janna.
Nancy was a great cook, she could cook fish and okra like no one else. She always had a vegetable garden, lovely yard and beautiful flowers. She worked at Sunset Country Club and was hostess at the Copan Truck Stop.
Nancy was a great companion, care giver to Bob (her husband) and the best friend anyone could ever have. She had a wonderful personality, if you met her you couldn't help but love her.
Nancy leaves behind to remember her, sister Shirley Jenner, brother Jack Carter and wife Janet, of Bartlesville, niece Sally Hale of Canton, Texas, Bob Jones, Jr. and wife Leona of Copan, Ok, Tanna (Jones) Lewis and Husband Steve of Shidler, OK.; Grandchildren Shawn Jones of Grainola, OK, Danee Marie Jones of Shidler, OK, Clinton Howard and Sherri of Copan, OK, Cody Holmes of Coweta, OK; great grandchildren Seth, Krissa, Jaxon Jones and Carson Holmes. Her friend for over 50 years Maxine Morrison.
She was preceded in death by husband Bob Jones in 2014, parents Raymond and Laverna Carter, daughter Janna Holmes.
