Louis Robert Jones, III, 79, of Norman, formerly of Blanchard, died Monday, February 5, 2018, in Norman. The son of Louis Robert Jones, Jr. and Inez (Schmidt) Jones, he was born September 2, 1938 in Emporia, Kansas.
He married Joyce Jolene Davis on November 15, 1964 in Salina, Kansas. Louis served in the U.S. Air Force and retired in 1976 after 20 years of service, reaching the rank of Master Sergeant. He went to work as a meteorologist for the National Weather Service and retired in 2001 after 22 years. He was a member of the VFW and American Legion. In his spare time, he enjoyed fishing, hunting, and working on model airplanes.
Louis was preceded in death by his parents; one daughter, Debbie Jones; and his brother, Joseph Jones.
He is survived by his wife, Joyce Jones, of Norman; two sons, Douglas Jones of Yukon and Michael Jones and his wife, Lisa, of Blanchard; three grandchildren, Brian Jones of Oklahoma City, Samantha Jones of Yukon, and Stephanie Jones of Yukon; and many other loved ones and friends.
Memorial service will be held at 2:00PM, Friday, February 9, 2018, at the Eisenhour Funeral Home Chapel in Blanchard. Arrangements are under the direction of Eisenhour Funeral Home of Blanchard. Online obituary and guestbook are available atwww.eisenhourfh.com.
