Jan Jones, 64 year old Woodward resident, passed away Friday, January 26, 2024. Memorial services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, February 1, 2024 at the First Baptist Church of Beaver with Reverend Eddie White officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of the Billings Funeral Home, Woodward.
Janet Sue (Redway) Jones was born on May 5, 1959 in Frederick, Oklahoma to Charles Edward and Geneva Janelle (Smith) Redway. Jan grew up in Grandfield and graduated from Grandfield High School. She attended and graduated from Cameron University with her Bachelor of Arts in Mathematics. She was united in marriage to Jon Craig "Casey" Jones on December 30, 1978 in Grandfield, Oklahoma. They were blessed with three children: Marti, Brie, and Nathan. Jan and Casey made their first home in Lawton, Oklahoma but lived in several different places including Apache, Hinton, Elk City, Crowder, Beaver, Vici, and Woodward. Jan taught math for many years until her retirement.
She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Vici. Jan enjoyed her grandkids and "almost" grandkids and she loved being with her family. She also enjoyed sports, cooking and baking, reading, brain games, trivia, and OU athletics, especially OU softball. She enjoyed attending and supporting her husband's teams and all her kids and grandkids activities throughout their coaching and playing careers.
She is survived by her husband of 45 years, Casey Jones of the home; one son, Nathan Jones and wife Jennifer; two daughters, Marti Jones, Brie Foster and husband Matt; her mother, Geneva Redway; four grandchildren: Easton Foster, Hudson, Camden, and Eva Jones; one brother, John Redway and wife Jean Ann; one sister, Donna Nill and husband Mike; other relatives and many friends.
Jan was preceded in death by her father, Charles Redway, father-in-law, Dewitt Jones, mother-in-law Reva Jones, and brother-in-law Jay Jones.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the First Baptist Church of Vici or the First Baptist Church of Beaver with the Billings Funeral Home, 1621 Downs Avenue, Woodward, OK. 73801 accepting the contributions.
