Joyce Rae (Eastep) Jones

Joyce Rae (Eastep) Jones
October 7, 1951 ~ April 9, 2026

Beloved mother and Nanna, Joyce Rae Jones, entered her eternal rest on April 9, 2026, surrounded by the love of her family and friends. A lifelong resident of Del City, Okla., Joyce was born on Oct. 7, 1951, to Arlie and Georgia Eastep.

Her greatest love was her family. Her home was filled with food and loved ones on every holiday, special occasion, and many Saturdays during football season. She loved decorating for the holidays, especially Halloween and Christmas, and her Halloween party was a family favorite. Always up for an adventure, she cherished her group of lifelong girlfriends, with whom she took trips, attended concerts, and maybe got into a little harmless trouble.

She would tell you her most important job in life was being a mother—and she did that job well. She raised her five sons and stepped in as a mother to many others along the way. She was also a close confidant to all 12 of her grandchildren.

She was a voice for the voiceless and a protector of rights, having spent her working years as a union representative.

Her family and friends were fiercely loved. She was preceded in death by her parents; her eldest son, Clifford Jones II; and her sister, Jeannette Eastep.

She leaves her legacy in her sons, grandchildren, and sister by heart: Chris Jones and wife Nicole of Choctaw, Okla., and their children, Shelby, Caitlyn, Bryce, and Sophia (Hashi) and her husband, Aaron; Anthony Jones of Moore, Okla., and his children, Anthony Jr. and Emilee; Damon Jones and wife Salina of Bridgecreek, Okla., and their children, Georgia and Deacon; Benjamin Jones and wife Brittany of Moore, Okla., and grandchildren Connor Jones of Edmond, Okla., Brennah Jones of Colorado, Kathryn Jones of Utah, Robert Jones of Norman, Okla., and Jackie Watford of Oklahoma City.

Viewing for Joyce will be held on Tuesday, April 14, 2026, from 12:00pm to 8:00pm, with family receiving friends from 6:00pm to 8:00pm, at Barnes-Friederich & Pope Funeral Home, 1820 S Douglas Blvd, Midwest City, OK 73130. The Funeral Service will be held at Del City First Church of the Nazarene, 4701 SE 26th St, Del City, OK 73115, on Wednesday, April 15, 2026, at 10:00am.
