Jimmie Jones, age 94 of Lexington, passed away Sunday March 10, 2019. He was born April 10, 1924 in Purcell, 1 of 7 children born to Isaac and Myrenda Jones. Jimmie started school in Purcell, but like many at that time, he left school to work and help his family.
Jimmie married young, to Wanda Franks. Together they raised four children, son, Jimmie and daughters, Teresa, Shirley and Dianna. Jimmie left his young family, and answered the call of duty, joining the United States Army. He returned home to Oklahoma and began working at Tinker Air Force Base, and retired as an Aircraft Technician.
Jimmie then started his own landscaping business, and owned and operated it for several years, before joining his son-in-law Ernie, and working for Land Maintenance CO. When not working, Jimmie loved playing his guitar. He was a craft enthusiast, and he and Wanda enjoyed crafting ceramics and whittling wood crafts. After Wanda passed away, Jimmie remarried to Viola Martin.
He was a hard worker; a wonderful husband, father and grandfather. He will be dearly missed!

Daughter, Dianna Sharrat;
His first wife, Wanda Jones;
Second wife, Viola Jones;
Parents, Ike and Myrenda Jones;
2 brothers, Ervie Jones and John Jones and
3 sisters, Ellen Baker, Loreen Huddleston and Sis Lansdale.
Jimmie is survived by:
His son, Jimmie Jones and wife Karin of Redding, CA;
Two daughters, Teresa Poe and husband Larry of Yukon and Shirley Coker and husband Ernie of Lexington;
Sister, Rosie Tilley of Purcell;
10 grandchildren; 26 great grandchildren and a host of other family and friends.
