James Allen "Bull" Jones

James Allen "Bull" Jones
December 26, 1936 ~ July 18, 2017

James "Bull" Allen Jones, 80, of Bartlesville, died Tuesday in Dewey.

Bull was born the son of James Jacob and Dollie Mae (Fink) Jones on Dec. 26, 1936, in Alluwe, OK. He was raised there and graduated from Alluwe High School in 1955. James served his country first from 1954-'55 in the Air National Guard before going on active duty in the Air Force from 1955-'60, serving in Georgia and El Paso.

Upon honorable discharge Bull worked in the oil fields and work took him to New Mexico where he met the love of his life Sandra Lynn Bridges at a café she worked at. On March 29, 1963, they were united in marriage in Farmington, New Mexico, and enjoyed 54 years of loving marriage. Shortly after, Bulls' father died and the newlyweds moved back to Alluwe to help his mother, then to Nowata before settling in Bartlesville. James continued working in the oil fields and as a mechanic before starting his 26 year career with PSO as a meter reader and later as a collector, retiring in 1994.

In retirement James and Sandra enjoyed camping and fishing, keeping their camper mostly at Bernice on Horse Creek. James loved to visit with friends and loved his family dearly. He piddled in his shop and reloaded bullets for himself and his friends.

Bull is survived by his loving wife Sandra of the home; one son James Micheal Jones and Angela of Midwest City; one sister Phyllis Green and Larry of Alluwe; three grandchildren Rebecca Lynn Jones, Katie Noreiga, and Kristi Wade and Ethan; two great grandchildren, James Anthony Jones and Winnie Lynn Wade; and a host of other family and friends.

Visitation will be held Friday 12-8 at the Davis Family Funeral Home, 918-534-3030, 113 S. Osage (Hwy. 75), Dewey, OK. Services are under the direction of Carter Davis and the Davis Family Funeral Home. Online condolences and remembrances may be shared with James' family at www.DavisFamilyFuneralHome.com.
