Debbie Jones, age 60 of Harrah, and formerly of Purcell, passed away Monday, July 24, 2017, at her home.
Debra Jean Thrift was born April 26, 1957 in Dallas, TX, 1 of 4 children born to William Clifford Thrift and Edna Jean (Drake) Thrift. Debbie spent her early childhood in East Texas, before settling in Purcell, where she graduated with the Class of 1976.
Debbie married Alvin Jones, and to this union, 2 sons, Jason and David were born. She began working as a Correctional Officer at the Joseph Harp Correctional Facility east of Lexington. But Debbie longed for the road, and so she started driving a truck. She logged many miles driving cross country, and at one time drove for her nephew, Curtis. Debbie last drove for Grace Trucking in Okla. City, before a medical disability forced her to retire. After many years as faithful companions, Debbie and Wendy Ann King were united in marriage in Harrah, a place they still call home. When not working, Debbie enjoyed spending time at the lake/ocean camping, fishing and all water activities with her family and friends but most of all spending time with her grandkids. Her family meant everything to her, and she cherished her sons and her grandchildren. Debbie was always a soul searcher and philosophising and discussions were always on the top of the list of her favorite things to do. In the later years she enjoyed trips with family and friends and taking adventures to places she had never been before. Debbie was a fighter, and she lived every day for those she loved! She will be dearly missed!
She was preceded in death by: Her parents, Clifford and Edna Jean Thrift and Her brother, David Thrift.
Debbie leaves behind: Her love, Wendy Jones of the home; Her boys, Jason Jones and wife Charlene of Norman and David Jones and wife Tiffany of Conroe, TX; Brother, Cliff Thrift and wife Sue of Norman and Sister, Leah Bolton of OKC; Step daughter, Brittany Gonzalez of Harrah; 6 grandchildren, Cody Rezac, Brandon Jones, Suki Jones, Bryson Jones, Easton Jones and Jett Jones; Step granddaughter, Kadence Phillips; Several cousins, nieces and nephews and a host of other family and friends.
