The memorial service celebrating the life of Zona M. Johnson, 81 of Enid, will be 11:00 AM, Tuesday, July 19, 2016 at Cedar Ridge Wesleyan Church with Pastor Ron Olson officiating. Burial will be held privately. Services are under the direction of Brown-Cummings Funeral Home.
Zona was born September 26, 1934 in Enid to Clayton and Agnes Goodhue Hays and passed July 15, 2016 in Enid. Zona graduated from Enid High School in 1952. She worked for various business before she married George Whitmore in 1955. Her husband served in the United States Air Force and traveled frequently. During this union, Zona had 6 children. In 1970, Zona married Carl Johnson in Grand Forks, North Dakota. They returned to Enid in 1985 and she was employed as a Unit Clerk at Bass Memorial Baptist Hospital until she retired in 2000. She enjoyed spending time with her family and grandchildren. She was a member of the Cedar Ridge Wesleyan Church.
Zona is survived by her children, Terry Whitmore & wife Mary of Bismarck, ND, Pamala Lautt of Enid, Sharon Stromsodt & husband Wayne of Enid, Clay Whitmore & wife Terry of Grand Forks, ND, Jeanine Deterding & husband Jim of Pond Creek, Judi Whitmore of Enid; sister-in-law: Angie Hays; grandchildren, Michael Whitmore & wife Jill, Ross Whitmore & wife Kim, Christopher Lautt, Amber Lautt, Kristen Stromsodt, Kayla Stromsodt, CeNedra Whitmore; great grandchildren, Khloe Whitmore, Logan Whitmore; numerous nieces and nephews.
Zona was preceded in death by her parents, 2 brothers, Ronald Hays and Jerry Hays, husband Carl Johnson, son-in-law, Mark Lautt
