Sterling Daniel “Danny” Johnson, 66, of Kingston, Oklahoma passed away on Tuesday, June 6, 2023, at his home in Kingston. He was born on June 30, 1956, in Madill, Oklahoma to the late Sterling Draper Johnson and Madeline I. Johnson. Danny was raised in Kingston where he graduated from Kingston High School in 1974. After high school he attended Southeastern University in Durant, Oklahoma until he started welding. In 1986 he started working for Valero in Ardmore, Oklahoma retiring after 32 years in May of 2018. Danny married Zoe Ann Chamberlain on July 2, 2016, in Kingston. He was a huge sports fan, always had a game on the television, either the Dallas Cowboys, OU, or the Rangers. He was always at the grandkid’s athletic events, and he loved teaching the grandkids how to ride horses and taking them to Play Days. One of his greatest loves was playing ball with his son, Daniel.
Danny is survived by Wife: Zoe Johnson, Kingston, Oklahoma. Children: Daniel Johnson and wife Melissa, Sherman, Texas; Heather Johnson and companion Brian, Kingston, Oklahoma. Grandchildren: Carrie Johnson, Katie Johnson, Hali Perez, Kelli Green, Aiden Manning, Ava Manning, Nathan Garrett, Tanner Garrett, Tayler Garrett and Tally Mae Garrett. Sisters: Charlene Hightower and husband Fred, Pagosa Springs, Colorado; Pam Jones and husband Tommy, Kingston, Oklahoma, Sister in-law: Zina Chamberlain, Philmont, New York. Bonus Daughters: Kathy Manning and husband Anthony, Dickson, Oklahoma and Heather Garrett and husband Cody, Ardmore, Oklahoma.
Danny was preceded in death by his parents, grandparents; Malsie and Bud
Mays and Alice and Charlie Johnson.
