ENID, Okla. — Jeanne Lynn Johnson, 57, left her home in Pond Creek, Okla., and rushed into the arms of Jesus on the morning of April 15, 2013. She was born April 5, 1956, in Enid, Okla., to Roy Jackson and Clarice Mueller Romhild.
Jeanne grew up on the farm outside of Pond Creek, Okla. She graduated from Pond Creek High School in 1974. After high school, she attended Northwestern State College.
Jeanne worked for a time at the Buy Rite Grocery Store in Pond Creek. She also served as an executive secretary at Pond Creek-Hunter Schools for several years. For the past 16 years, Jeanne worked as an administrative assistant, first for Koch, then for Oneok in Medford.
Jeanne loved and was well loved by all those who knew her and called her friend.
Jeanne was an amazing woman. She was a model of strength, courage, love, selflessness, and humility to all who knew her. She had a wonderful sense of humor and an even bigger heart. Above all, Jeanne loved spending time with her family. She was a beloved wife, mother, sister and nana, who was truly present for every moment. Some of her best times were spent vacationing with “the fam” at Beaver Lake, Ark., or a spot on any beach were two of Jeanne’s favorite places in the world.
Jeanne leaves behind a legacy of love filled with happy memories, including her husband, Johnny of Pond Creek, with whom she shared 32 wonderful years of marriage; daughter, Shannon and son-in-law, Jason Culler of Broken Arrow, Okla.; and daughter, McKiesha and son-in-law, Clint Claypole of Enid, Okla. She will be missed tremendously by her grandchildren, Avery Claire Culler, Kadyn Jean Culler, Brooks William Culler and Reese Justice Claypole. All of whom she loved, spoiled and doted on without fail. She is also survived by her brothers, Roy (Sandy) Romhild of Kokomo, Ind., and Rex Romhild of High Rolls, N.M.; sister, Janet (Calvin) McDonald of Pond Creek, Okla.; stepson, Curtis Johnson of Tulsa, Okla.; and nephews, other relatives, and her faithful dog, Charlie.
Jeanne was preceded in death by her parents, Roy Jackson and Clarice Romhild.
A memorial service will be held at First Christian Church, Pond Creek, Okla., on Saturday, April 20, 2013, at 2 p.m., with Dr. Richard Dunn officiating. Cremation arrangements are by Anderson-Burris Funeral Home & Crematory.
