Darlene Delores Johnson was born on November 30, 1946 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma to Robert and Mary Evelyn Kimble. She was raised in Ft. Worth, Texas with 2 brothers and 1 sister.
In 1964 she finished her last few months of high school at Cave Springs in Bunch, Oklahoma where she met the love of her life. They moved to the Zion community in 1975 where they made their home and raised two children. Darlene worked a few jobs before becoming the purchasing director for Stilwell Memorial Hospital where she retired after 37 years.
Through the years, Darlene became a caretaker to many. If someone was in need because of illness, she was there cooking, cleaning and organizing. Her husband gave her the nickname Mrs. Spic and Span because she would wash his glass if he set it down. She was also an avid Oklahoma Sooners fan. She would be mad at them and yell at the tv for missing a play sometimes, but no one else better say anything bad about them. When she finally got to go to a live game the security had to ask her to leave because the game was over and she was still in the stadium taking pictures.
Most of all, Darlene loved spending time with her grandbabies and great-grandbabies. She put in a swimming pool so all her grandkids would learn to swim. She loved to spend time with them and tried to spoil them as much as she could. She always worried about them not having enough gas money and would always discreetly slip them some cash.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Robert Kimble and Mary Evelyn Copeland and her brothers, Butch and Dale Kimble.
Darlene is survived by a loving family which includes her husband, Georgie Mack Johnson of Stilwell, their children: Johnny Johnson and wife Kayla of Stilwell, Kim Doyle and husband Kevin of Stilwell. Her sister: Mary Cook and husband Terry of Texas.
Their grandchildren: Jessica Newman and husband Charlie, Heath Eubanks and wife Kara, Hanna Johnson, Mackenzie Shafer and husband Josh, Jenn Doyle, Kimberly Copeland and Husband Chris, Brandon Doyle, and Katie Doyle. Their great grandchildren: Tyce Eubanks, Wyatt Shafer, Darcy Newman, Kolter Eubanks, Oliver Copeland, and Addie Shafer as well as a host of other relatives and dear friends.
Darlene will forever be remembered for her dimpled smile and the love she shared with us all.
