Benjamin Lynn “Ben” Johnson, age 80 of Guthrie, Oklahoma passed away on December 7, 2019 in Edmond, Oklahoma. He was born on December 10, 1938 in Canandaigua, New York to Benjamin and Grace (Yarger) Johnson.
Ben had lived in Guthrie the past 20+ years and worked as a truck driver. After retiring he owned B & W Vinyl in Guthrie. On June 27, 2008 he married Shirley Sanders in Guthrie. Ben enjoyed reading and he loved his dogs.
Survivors include his wife Shirley of the home; son Benjamin Johnson and wife Brandy of Guthrie, daughter Patricia Oliver of Panama, Oklahoma, daughter Carla Hill and husband Bob of Poteau, Oklahoma, daughter Christy Johnson and husband Raymond Marshall of Poteau, Oklahoma, stepdaughter Lisa Johnson of Guthrie, stepdaughter Angela Edge and husband Ricky of Edmond, Oklahoma and stepson Johnny Johnson, Sr. and wife Brenda of Guthrie, brother Walt Johnson and wife Betty of Penn Yan, New York, brother-in-law Robert Sanders and wife Margaret of Guthrie, niece and nephew Lee and Vonda Pope of Parrish, Florida, 13 grandchildren, six great grandchildren, nine step-grandchildren and 12 step-great-grandchildren. Ben was preceded in death by his first wife Willene, parents Benjamin and Gracie Johnson, and brothers Clair, Kenny, Larry and Bernard and his daughter Ruth Ann Johnson.
Memorial services will be held on Saturday, December 14, 2019 at 2:00 P.M. at the Hayes Funeral Home Chapel with Chaplain Gene Owen officiating. Services are under the direction of Hayes Funeral Home.
