Margene Carol (Wehrenberg) Jindra

Margene Carol (Wehrenberg) Jindra
August 8, 1929 ~ June 13, 2023

Margene Carol Wehrenberg Jindra, 93, passed away on June 13, 2023, in Enid, Oklahoma. Margene Jindra was born on August 8, 1929, to Carl and Priscilla (Vilhauer) Wehrenberg. She graduated from Kingfisher High School and enjoyed returning to school reunions.

After marrying Frankie Jindra on March 17, 1953, they moved to Caldwell, Kansas, and worked at Boeing Aircraft in Wichita. Farming soon was a focal point, and Margene became a farmer's wife. A daughter Janice was born and the fun began. Margene learned to drive tractors, trucks, and baked lemon meringue pies that were exceptionally good and high peaks on that meringue had to be there!

Traveling to Colorado and Texas was enjoyed, and keeping up with the granddaughter Holly was important. Her activities in school were many and interesting. Then four great-grandkids came along with more activities and ideas, so nothing was ever boring, to say the least. Each day brought a new adventure.

Margene is preceded in death by her parents and husband, Frankie (2010).

She is survived by her daughter Janice, granddaughter Holly and four great-grandchildren, Braden, Lauren, Miley, and Bentley.

Funeral services were held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, June 17, 2023, in the Schaeffer Mortuary Chapel, Caldwell, Kansas, with Pastor Matt Johnson officiating. Interment followed at the Caldwell City Cemetery. Casket-bearers were David Brown, Michael Lang, Braden Varnell, Zack Turner, Weston Almond and Jason Shockey. Janice Semrad played "What A Friend We Have In Jesus" on the piano.

Memorials may be made to the Caldwell Area Health Foundation and sent in care of the mortuary.
