ENID, OK - Funeral service for Larry E. Jenkins will be 10 a.m. Wednesday, May 28, 2014, at Fairfield Baptist Church, Cypress, Texas, with the Rev. Kris Lamle officiating. Burial will follow in Tomball, Texas, at Klein Memorial Cemetery with arrangements made through Klein Funeral Home, Tomball, Texas.
Larry was born Feb. 27, 1946, to Charles and Bertha Green Jenkins in Enid, Okla., and passed away in his sleep at his home in Cypress, Texas, on Saturday, May 24, 2014.
He was raised in Enid and graduated from Philips University.
Larry served in the United States Navy as a Quartermaster aboard the USS Midway.
He later entered the oil and gas industry.
Larry and Kathy Green were united in marriage on Aug. 17, 1974. He was a devoted and loving husband, dedicated and beloved father, as well as an enthusiastic and caring grandpa. He had a passion for riding horses and Harleys, enjoying God's beautiful country on trail and bike rides. Larry was also a lifelong Corvette enthusiast and handyman without a project too big to handle. His all-time favorite pastime was being a fun Grandpa.
Larry is survived by his wife, Kathy; a son, Michael and wife Kelly of Montgomery, Texas; two daughters, Tami and husband Jody Chapman of Tomball, Texas, and Lori and husband Pete Sedrak of Houston, Texas; four grandchildren, Dylan and Tyler Jenkins of Montgomery, Texas, and Breely and Brogan Chapman of Tomball, Texas.; three brothers, Duane and wife Pat, Niagra Falls, Canada, Dick and wife Marge, Enid, and Randy and wife Sharon of Enid; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Larry was preceded in death by both his parents.
