Mamie "Mame" Evelyn Janzen was welcomed into the presence of the Lord on June 4, 2018. She was an 82 year-old resident of Carrington Assisted Living, Shafter, California.

Mame was born on a farm near Ringwood Oklahoma, on November 16, 1935, to Arnold and Elizabeth (Smith) Wedel.

Mame was an accomplished pianist and organist and played for many years at the Grace Mennonite Church. She gave piano lessons to many children over the years and worked at the Cherokee Park School in the music department. Later she enjoyed singing in the Emmanuel Baptist Church Choir.

Mame loved her family and enjoyed it when her children and their families could  get together for her wonderful meals. She loved holidays, especially Christmas. She also enjoyed sewing and made many of her children's clothes when they were growing up. She is very much loved by her family and will be greatly missed.
