Jay Janzen

Jay Janzen
March 24, 1940 ~ April 17, 2025

Jay Janzen, age 85, died April 17, 2025. He was born in Chickasaw, Oklahoma to Rudie and Gladys Janzen, His family moved to Bartlesville, Oklahoma when he was three years old.

Jay is a 1958 graduate of college high school and holds a bachelor’s in chemistry from Kansas University, as well as a, PHD in physical chemistry from Iowa State university. He had a 32-year career with the Phillips Petroleum company as a research scientist. In 1998 he received a technology innovation award.

Retirement took him to Golden, Colorado where he was an avid hiker. He also has an intense interest in photography and playing in the Bartlesville symphony orchestra.

He is preceded in death by his parents, a brother, James and a granddaughter Morgan Lindsay of Oklahoma City.

He is survived by his wife Charlene, Carla Janzen (Daughter), Paul Janzen (Son), William Lindsay (Stepson), and 7 great grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, donations to the Bartlesville Symphony orchestra would be appreciated.
