Austin John Janke, 18, of Blanchard, died Wednesday, January 18, 2017 in Norman. He was born April 18, 1998, in Lubbock, Texas to David John Janke and Misty Marie (Miller) Janke.
Austin grew up in Blanchard and attended Blanchard Schools. Growing up, he was very active in various Blanchard Little League Sports. Austin played football for Blanchard High School and was a member of the State Championship team. He was a talented athlete and also wrestled on the Blanchard High School Wrestling Team. He was an avid OU football fan and was a Christian in faith. Austin was a devoted big brother and spent countless hours coaching and mentoring his little brothers in wrestling. He was always there at their wrestling meets to encourage them and give them advice.
In his spare time, Austin enjoyed listening to music and singing along. He loved the outdoors and was a great fisherman. He could outfish just about anyone. Austin was a friend to everyone and had a way of brightening up any situation. He was always smiling and laughing and everyone enjoyed being around him. He loved making others smile and would do just about anything for a laugh. His absence will leave a void that can never be filled. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
Austin is survived by his parents, Misty Janke and Jeremy Vance of Mustang, and David and Krista Janke of Amarillo, Texas; three brothers, Dalton Vance and Clayton Vance, both of Mustang, and Aycen Janke of Amarillo, Texas; one sister, Abbie Janke of Amarillo, Texas; his grandparents, Gene Miller of Chickasha, Joy Miller of Blanchard, Dave Janke of Westminster, Colorado, Velann Anderson of Amarillo, Texas, and Russell and Nancy Shipley of Blanchard; great grandmothers, Melba Hodges of Blanchard and Peggy Anderson of Amarillo, Texas; several aunts, uncles, and cousins; and many other relatives and a host of friends.
Funeral service will be held at 4:00 PM, Monday, January 23, 2017, at First Baptist Church in Blanchard. Arrangements are under the direction of Eisenhour Funeral Home of Blanchard. Online obituary and guestbook are available at www.eisenhourfh.com.
