Robert Matthew James, 55, Tishomingo, passed away at his home surrounded by his loving family on August 7, 2020. Robert was born on July 22, 1965 in Talihina to Henry James and Eloise Neighbors James. Johnston County and Tishomingo have been home to Robert all of his life and attended college at Murray State. Robert spent his most recent working years as security at the Chickasaw Nation Smoke Shop in Tishomingo. He married Wilma Andrews on October 30, 2013. Robert loved fishing, working on cars and being outdoors. If it wasn’t a nice day you could find him inside playing video games; Elder Scrolls and Red Dead Redemption were his two favorites. Most importantly, he loved his grandchildren and family.
Robert is preceded in death by his parents, Henry and Eloise James; aunts, Jackie Pitchlyn and Myrtle Sweeden; uncles, Sonny Pitchlyn and Barney “Chock” James.
Those he leaves to cherish his memories are his wife, Wilma James; 9 children, Tiffany Hines, Robert James II, Samantha James, Amelia Nease, Amber Percell, Destiny James, Brandon James-Whitebead, Jessie Whitebead, Cassie Whitebead, Ryan James; 10 grandchildren; sister, Lovetta Smith and a host of nieces, nephews and friends who will deeply miss him.
A celebration of life will be held at 11:00 AM Wednesday, August 12, 2020 at DeArman-Clark Funeral Home with Pastor Allen Beck to officiate.
