Billie Rhue James, "NawNee" was born in Grandfield, Oklahoma on July 31, 1924, to John W. DeWitt and Veatrice Cash DeWitt of Sparks. She was the second of six children, four girls and two boys.
Billie passed away December 15, 2014 at the age of 90.
Billie attended school in Pampa, Texas in addition to beauty school in Oklahoma City in 1941.
She married Ernest Jack James, "PawPaw" on April 25, 1942. The couple raised three children, one son and two daughters.
She was a loving wife and homemaker.
As a member of the Church of Christ, she taught vacation Bible school.
Billie worked beside Jack at Drais Furniture Studio in Portland, Oregon, an upholstery business they ran for many years.
Billie was preceded in death by her husband, Jack of 43 years; her daughter, Pam Ready of Chandler; one grandson, three sisters, and one brother.
She is survived by her son, Phil James of Sand Springs; her daughter Carole Schaefer of Vancouver, Washington; six grandchildren; eighteen great grandchildren and eight great-great grandchildren.
Services for Billie will be held at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, December 18, 2014 at Central Church of Christ, in Chandler.
Arrangements are under the direction of Lehman Funeral Home of Wellston.
