Services to celebrate the life of William “Billy” Lee Jackson, 48, of Marietta, will be held at 2 p.m., Friday, May 7 at his home, Box 288 Shady Dale Road, officiated by Chaplain Stanley Joseph.
Born July 11, 1961 in Bakersfield, California, he died Wednesday, April 28, 2010.
William was born in Bakersfield, where he grew up and lived until 1988, when he and his wife moved to Hillsboro, Oregon. In 1996 they moved to Oklahoma and made Marietta their home.
Through the years, he was employed at various jobs as a laborer, but took great pride when he worked in Marietta as a jailer for the Love County Sheriff’s Department in 2003.
He enjoyed playing and laughing with all of the kiddos in his life, and adored his family and many friends. He loved fishing and music, along with yardwork and gardening. He also had a magical love for his soulmate and best friend, Sandra; something everybody could see every time he would look at her with his beautiful blue eyes.
William is survived by his amazingly devoted wife and best friend of 27 years, Sandra Kay Jackson of Marietta; father, Elmer Lee Jackson of Leon; mother, Kathleen Marie Stokes of Maysville; daughters, Vanessa Hewitt and son Tyler of Bakersfield, Kimberly A. Looper and sons Justin, Cory and Skylar of Marietta, Lisa D. Richards, husband Gary and children Aaron, Nachelle, Tanner and Ashley of Bakersfield; sons, David W. Newkirk and daughter Heather, and Greg Williams, all of Bakersfield; brothers, Michael Paul Jackson and wife Tracie of Maysville, Joseph Glenn Jackson and wife LeAnn of Forest Grove, Oregon; and sister, Sherry Lynn Dillon and husband Matthew of Coeur d’Alene, Idaho.
“Uncle Bo-Bo” is also survived by many nieces and nephews whom he adored; many friends, family, aunts, uncles and cousins whose lives were enriched by Billy’s love.
We would like to send our love and special thank-yous to Faith Hospice, Dr. Larry Powell, and all of their support staff for allowing us to stay at home with Dad. Because of their dedication and care we were able to share with Dad any special moments with lots of laughter, some tears, and memories that will remain in our hearts not only forever, but for eternity.
