Peggy June (Meek) Jackson

Peggy June (Meek) Jackson
June 25, 1955 ~ January 30, 2021

Peggy June Jackson, 65 of Bartlesville, Oklahoma, died on January 30, 2021 in Oklahoma City. The family will be holding a private service. Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Stumpff Funeral Home and Crematory.

Peggy was born on June 25, 1955 in Bartlesville, Oklahoma to Raymond and Marcia (Morris) Meek.

Peggy married the love of her life, Daniel Jackson on November 26, 1976 in Bartlesville. Their love story and devotion to one another was larger-than-life. Together they established a loving and safe environment to raise their daughters in. Sadly, Danny preceded her in death on November 23, 2003. Peggy was also preceded in death by both of her parents as well as her in-laws Howard and Viola (Blakemore) Jackson of Bartlesville, her brother DeWayne Meek and sister Emily White both of McCune, Kansas.

Peggy was a Licensed Practical Nurse who worked in senior services at many local entities in the Bartlesville area through the years. She was a school nurse for the Bartlesville Public Schools while her daughters were younger so she could have a convenient schedule to be an available and involved mother. She had a caring, nurturing spirit that was evident through the various lives that she touched through mentoring or teaching in the nursing field. Peggy was also very creative and had talent for drawing and painting. She also put her creativity to use in baking and decorating cakes as a means for extra income and to pay for nursing school. Her most treasured times of baking were with her beloved grandchildren, they usually baked cookies and Peggy never seemed to mind the messes. An empty nest hobby that Dan and Peggy enjoyed was antiquing. Peggy was a collector of many things and enjoyed searching for treasures. Peggy loved watching classic movies on TCM, listening to oldies music, reading, adding to her “Elvis Room” and she was an avid fan of the Dallas Cowboys since the 1980’s.

As a breast cancer survivor, Peggy benefitted through and supported Hopestone Cancer Center. A memorial in Peggy’s name has been established and request for donations in lieu of flowers can be sent to Hopestone Cancer Center at 120 SW Frank Phillips Blvd in Bartlesville, Oklahoma, 74003.

Peggy is survived by her daughters, Hillary and husband Brian Smith of Bartlesville and Nicole and husband Bryan Keaton of Bartlesville; four grandchildren, Emma Smith, Jackson Smith, Vivian Smith, and Gage Keaton all of Bartlesville; sister Cheryl Meek of Cassville, Mo, brother Bruce Meek of Bartlesville, niece Florence Meek of Bartlesville, who Peggy was especially close to, and numerous other nieces and nephews, loved ones and friends.
