Melva Ann (Johnson) Jackson

March 23, 1944 ~ May 22, 2020

On May 22, 2020 heavens pearly gates opened and took in a new angel, Melva Ann Jackson of Edmond, Oklahoma. Melva had been ill for some time now, undergoing a kidney transplant two years ago (donated by her daughter Tracy), but ill health came to a peak when she was diagnosed with untreatable cancer. She went peacefully at home holding her husband’s hand and surrounded by her family

Melva was born on March 23, 1944 to Beulah and Melville Johnson in Grandfield, Oklahoma. She married her life- long sweetheart, who she has been with since eighth grade, Grant Jackson, on February 16, 1963.

Melva loved traveling and especially enjoyed walking on the beach collecting seashells. She spent many hours playing with her beads and making jewelry. She mostly enjoyed spoiling her children, husband and grandchildren. Everyone who met her knew she was the most caring, kind-hearted person you will ever meet.

She is preceded in death by her parents. She is survived by her husband, Grant Jackson of the home, her daughter Tracy Sadler and her husband Stan of Edmond, Oklahoma, her daughter Stacy Darling and Phillip Mobbs of Norman, Oklahoma: 2 grandchildren-Charlee Sadler, Sydney Jones and her husband Jack who are expecting, 3 step-grandchildren Kristianne Sadler, Josh Sadler and his wife Blake, Matt Sadler and his wife Laci; 11 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren.

The family will be gathering for a celebration of life, Wednesday May 27 between 4:00-6:00pm at Matthews Funeral Home & Cremation Service located at 601 S. Kelly Ave, Edmond, OK. The family would like for all those that are able to come, to join them in honoring the life of Melva Jackson.
