Larry Phillip Jackson

Larry Phillip Jackson
June 8, 1962 ~ April 16, 2023

Larry Phillip Jackson was born June 8, 1962 in Norman, Oklahoma to Troy and Phyllis (Gay) Jackson. He passed away April 16, 2023 in Oklahoma City at the age of 60.

Larry grew up in Del City, graduating with the Del City High School class of 1980. He was well liked, immensely popular and enjoyed many friends and activities during high school. After graduation, Larry attended Rose State College majoring in business administration and began working full-time in the workforce. He went to work for the Federal Reserve and several other banking institutions where he was employed for many years. He had a tremendous work ethic, and his employers were always regretful when he was leaving for a better opportunity, because he was hard working, dedicated and committed. Larry had a good relationship with everyone wherever he was.

Larry loved and enjoyed being outdoors where he considered to be his happy place. He enjoyed being with family, taking the kids fishing, doing anything that involved having them outside and active. The kids had lots of “great times” with Uncle Larry. Larry’s passion was taking a day or a weekend and going fishing anywhere, but truly loved Lake Eufaula, especially fishing at the lake Eufaula Dam. There were many shared “good times” with Larry spending the day fishing, and getting lines untangled. He was always so patient helping his sister when she got her line tangled. Larry loved Jesus, reading his Bible, and the Word of God! He enjoyed gardening, planting flowers and helping keep things well-groomed and beautiful in the summertime. Larry was a kind patient soul, always thinking of others and wanting to help those in need. He had a huge, kind heart and loved people. If you were around Larry very long, you would be laughing and having a wonderful time. He will always hold a special place in our hearts.

Larry was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Alvie and Dorothy Gay; paternal grandparents, Howard and Sarah Jackson; his parent’s Troy Jackson and Phyllis Holleyman; and his stepfather Hank Holleyman. Survivors include his life partner, Alex Crenshaw; brothers, Dale Jackson and wife Sandy of Chandler, Rick Jackson of Wellston; sister, Toni and husband John Rains of Alex; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and extended family who all loved Larry dearly.

A celebration of Larry’s life will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, April 26, 2023 at Victory Life Church in Chandler. Arrangements are under the direction of Lehman Funeral Home of Wellston.
