Viewing and visitation will be held at Basham Funeral Care (3312 Niles St.) on Tuesday, November 9, 2004 from 5 to 8 p.m. with her Homegoing Celebration being held Wednesday, November 10, 2004, at Cain Memorial A.M.S., 630 Califoronia Ave., at 11:00 a.m. Rev. Dr. L. Fisher Hines, officiating. A well spent life came to a close on Tuesday November 3, 2004 here in Bakersfield, California.
Queen Esther Mae Reeves was born on March 6, 1924 in Wewoka, Oklahoma to the union of Martha and Willie Reeves. She was the first of 11. Preceding her in death are her parents, Martha Mitchell and Willie Reeves; 1 son; 4 sisters; 2 brothers and 2 great grandchildren, Ketron-Willie and Kalaya Jessica.
We are comforted in knowing that she has moved past the land of pain, suffering and sorrow and closer to the land of peace and happiness. In moving, she leaves to cherish her life 3 sons, Jackie and Sheila Jackson of Long Beach, California, Eugene Olin Jackson, Gregory James and Pat Jackson; 2 daughters, Mary Darlene Shaw and (Kiddie Dee) Jesssica Cora Willie Evans which all reside in Bakersfield, CA; 13 grandchildren, Eugene, Jr., Alfonzo, Lasha, Lashelle, Michael, Evenell, Sandra, John, Tammy, Delon, Ruby, Kimwanna, Devontay, Anreus, Dynestidy also know as LaEsther; 25 great grandchildren; 2 sisters, Mary and Opal; 2 brothers, Clarence and Willie and many other loving relatives and friends.
