George Jackman Jr., age 81, of Lexington passed away on February 19, 2026. George John Jackman Jr. was born on December 24, 1944 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, the youngest of three children born to George John Jackman Sr. and Patricia Helena (Martineau) Jackman. He was primarily raised in the Oklahoma City/Norman area, which is where he attended school and graduated high school in 1962.
George was a man of great determination, drive, and grit. It was always a personal goal of his to become an engineer, and he did just that. As a young man, and recent high school graduate, he secured a job at Schiver Engineering as a draftsman. He later went on to own and operate his own firm working as a mechanical/electrical engineer. George eventually retired in 1990.
One of his biggest accomplishments in life was becoming a proud father to his two beautiful children, Tony and Stacy. Nothing made him happier than the day he became a dad, and later a grandpa. When he wasn’t working, he enjoyed playing cards, shooting pool, and fishing. He also enjoyed taking photos and expanding his photography portfolio. Despite facing several obstacles throughout his life, George was resilient and persevered. He didn’t let them slow him down, but rather used them as fuel to keep going and keep pursuing his dreams! He was also known to be stubborn at times, but mostly extremely loving, protective, and caring. He was a simple man who found joy in the simple things in life. George Jackman Jr. was a one-of-a-kind man who will be missed dearly by all who knew and loved him.
He was preceded in death by: his wives, Ernestine (Marshall) Jackman and Dee Porch; his parents, George and Patricia Jackman; sister, Patricia (Jackman) Goff and brother, William Jackman.
George is survived by: his children, Tony Jackman of Albertville, MN and Stacy Jackman of Baltimore, MD; two grandchildren, Samantha Jackman and Alexander Jackman; 1 great-grandchild, Olivia Moses, and a host of other family and friends.
