Debra Irwin, age 67, of Purcell passed away peacefully on August 25, 2023. Debra Lynn Irwin was born on April 14, 1956 in Edmond, Oklahoma to Francis Marion Irwin and Betty Jean (Huffman). She was primarily raised in the Moore/ Midwest City area, where she attended Moore Public Schools until the 11th grade. From there, she went straight into the work force. She began as a seamstress, before eventually moving into the food service industry where she worked at Dairy Queen for over 20 years. She valued hard work, and was dedicated to serving others. One of her biggest accomplishments in life was becoming a proud mother of her three beautiful children- Mandy, Patrick, and Geoffrey. They shared countless memories that will forever be cherished. Debra was stubborn and strong-willed, in all the best ways. In her free time, she enjoyed tending to her garden and doing yardwork of any kind. She was also a huge fan of Toby Keith and the Seattle Seahawks. Debra was an excellent cook, and certainly knew her way around the kitchen; Thanksgiving dinner was her favorite meal of all though! More than anything, Debra was a family woman. She loved spending time with her family and caring for them, especially her grandchildren. She treasured every moment with them. Debra was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and sister. She will be dearly missed!
She was preceded in death by: her parents, Francis Irwin and Betty Green; brothers, Danny Ray and Bill Dean; grandmother, Mae Huffman and grandson, Brandon Powell.
Debra is survived by: her daughter, Mandy Powell of Purcell; sons, Patrick Irwin of Stillwater and Geoffrey Irwin and wife Denica of Purcell; sister, Rebekah Wares of Woodward, OK; niece and nephews, April, Benjamin, and Joshua; 7 grandchildren, Nathaniel Powell, Bethany Powell, Elizabeth Powell, Kaden Powell, Connor (Amber) Ainsworth, Erica Irwin, Raven Irwin; great-grandbaby, Thaddeus, who was the pride and joy of her life; and a host of other family and friends.
