Yvonne Irvin, age 79 of Newcastle, went home to be with her Lord and Savior, Friday, August 25, 2017. Yvonne Joyce Reeves was born January 28, 1938 in San Jaun, TX, the only daughter and youngest child of Earl Monroe Reeves and Lenora Bell (Dobbs) Reeves. She was raised in McAllen, TX and attended school at Pharr-San Juan-Alamo Schools.
In November of 1955 in Okla. City, Yvonne married the love of her life, Gene Irvin. Together they raised 6 children, sons, Chris, Brent, Jon and Jeremy and daughters, Janette and Julie. They made their home in Okla. City for a few years, before moving to Atoka in 1968. Yvonne worked tirelessly as a homemaker, caring and providing for her family. She was a gifted quilter and shared her talents with her family and friends. Yvonne liked to travel and was an avid reader who never missed an opportunity to read a good book. She was an excellent cook, known for her coconut crème pies and cinnamon rolls. She loved spending time with her family playing games and would boast that she never lost a game of Scrabble. She was a faithful member of the Newcastle Church of the First Born. Yvonne was a wonderful mother and grandmother and a true friend to many.
She was preceded in death by: Her husband, Gene Irvin; Her parents, Earl and Lenora Reeves; Son-in-law, Sarge Hudnall; Daughter-in-law, Terry Irvin; Infant son, Russell and 3 brothers, Cecil, Temple and Vernon.
Yvonne is survived by: Her sons, Chris Irvin of Blanchard, Brent Irvin and wife Lisa of Blanchard, Jon Irvin and wife Tahna of OKC and Jeremy Irvin and wife April of Blanchard; Her daughters, Janette Lytle and husband Ted of Lone Grove and Julie Hudnall of Blanchard; 17 grandchildren; several nieces, nephews and a host of family and friends.
Funeral Services are scheduled for 10:00 A.M. Wednesday, August 30, 2017, at the Newcastle Church of the First Born.
