In 1986, Gene, Patsy and the boys made their way north and east to Mooreland again following Gene's career in the railroad. They lived in Mooreland on the farm until his retirement from Santa Fe Railroad in 2002. He loved spending time with his family, his farm animals, and his beloved dog, Tootsie. Gene enjoyed word search puzzles and having coffee with his small men's group from church. Gene was considered by his friends and family as a world class chicken farmer. And to all those that have known Gene throughout the years, know that he will always love Toots and George.
