Mark Steven Hylton, age 54, of Marlow passed away Tuesday, October 31, 2023. He was born on September 30, 1969 in Roanoke, Virginia, the older of two children, adopted by Francis Stedman Hylton and Martha Mae (Perna) Hylton. He was raised in Christiansburg, Virginia where he attended school and graduated with the Blue Demon Class of 1987.
Shortly after graduating high school, he moved to Norman, Oklahoma. While there, he obtained an Associate’s degree in Industrial Psychology from the University of Oklahoma. Mark worked as a salesman in several different industries, before owning and operating Homeland Mortgage Marketing for over 10 years. He also served as an administrator in the dental field before he began working at Heartland Payment Systems, where he has been for the last several years.
Mark was driven and dedicated to working hard every single day. His strong work ethic and values helped pave the way to becoming a Division Manager for Heartland. Mark was a very fun-loving, independent, kind and charming man. He was very supportive of his family, and was always their biggest cheerleader. Mark loved to be involved in all sports, whether it was coaching Michal, playing in slow pitch softball leagues himself or chasing the Wade sisters to basketball games. He was also a huge OU sports fan. He truly enjoyed it all! Mark loved being on the water, and never missed an opportunity to be at the lake. He was an excellent cook, known for his famous chicken parmesan and Thanksgiving feast. Every meal was made with love. Mark was a beloved father, grandfather, brother, uncle, life partner, and a true friend. He will be dearly missed!
He was preceded in death by: his parents, Francis and Martha Hylton.
Mark is survived by: his life partner, Jennifer Wade of the home; his daughters, Chelsea Hylton of Houston, TX and Michal Hylton-Gregg and husband Chris of Stratford; step-daughters, Megan Zimmerman and husband Braden of Yukon, Hannah Johnson and husband Brady of Edmond, Lauren Wade of Marlow, Jenna Wade of Marlow, and Whitney Wade of Marlow; sister, Becky Presgraves and husband Dwayne of Purcellville, VA; one granddaughter, Rylie Hylton, and a host of other family and friends.
