Matilda H. Hutton

???? ~ Jan. 24, 1998 | Age 86

LUBBOCK - Matilda Hutton, 86, died Saturday, Jan. 24, 1998.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday in First United Methodist Church of Canyon with the Rev. Weldon McCormick, retired Methodist minister, officating. Burial will be in Dreamland Cemetery in Canyon by Resthaven Funeral Home of Lubbock.

Mrs. Hutton was born in Burlington, Okla., and was raised in Dumas. She farmed in the Wayside area and lived in Canyon for 45 years before moving to Lubbock in 1991. She was a Methodist.

She married Emmitt Otis Hutton in 1938 at Dumas. He died in 1965. She also was preceded in death by a daughter, Gladys Cordes.

Survivors include three daughters, Fay Nagonski of Honolulu, Jo Raines of Levelland and Donna Davidson of Lubbock; five sons, Edgar of Anchorage, Alaska, LeRoy of Canyon, A.D. of Hereford, Marvin of Lufkin and Robert of Amarillo; two sisters, Margaret Rodgeres of Amarillo and Viola Castle of Grand Junction, Colo.; 14 grandchildren; and 17 greatgrandchildren.

The family requests memorials be to Meals on Wheels or a favorite charity.

Visitation and viewing will be held from noon until 2 p.m. Tuesday at the church parlor.
