Nathalie M. (Groat) Hutchinson
Sept. 2, 1916 ~ March 27, 2013

Nathalie M. Hutchinson, 96, long-time Enid resident, died Wednesday, March 27, 2013. She was born Sept. 2, 1916, in Albert Lea, Minn., to John and Effie Groat.

She was active in the Methodist Church as a youth, and after graduating from high school, she attended Albert Lea Junior College. She married Chuck Hutchinson in 1941, and spent three years following him in the service. In the spring of 1955, the family moved to Enid where she became a partner in the Hutchinson Shoe Co., first in Gray�s and later in The Hutch.

She was very active in all aspects of the First United Methodist Church and was a member of Beta Sigma Phi Sorority. She helped Chuck with numerous Dale Carnegie Courses, where she acquired the nickname �Honey.� She and Chuck were certified leaders in both Celebrating Marriage and Marriage Enrichment, and taught many classes. She loved people, God and conversation, didn�t know a stranger and had a strong sense of hospitality. She was an avid letter writer and spent hours lovingly tending her flower garden.

Nathalie was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 50 years, Chuck; and an infant son, Steven. She is survived by son, Dirk and wife Fran of Salina, Kan.; two grandsons, Eric (Julie) and Todd; and a great-granddaughter, Aria.

Funeral service will be 10 a.m. Monday, April 1, 2013, at Trinity United Methodist Church, 901 E. Neal, Salina, Kan. Interment will be at a later date in Albert Lea, Minn. Arrangements by Ryan Mortuary, Salina, Kan.
