Raymond Lee Huston was born May 17, 1951, at Blackwell, Oklahoma, to William and Hazel Huston (Pester), and left us on August 21, 2023, at the age of 72.
Raymond was a loving and hardworking man; he was always there to lend a hand. He attended Braman, Liberty, Okeene, and Canton schools, graduating from Canton in 1969. Growing up farming- that was his life. He owned a Custom Cutting operation from 1976 to 2000, cutting across the United States. Raymond loved helping his dad on the family farm in Okeene and helped many farmers in the area. He was a member of the Homestead Bible Church. He also served for United States Navy, from 1971 to 1973. Raymond was the Oklahoma Sooner’s #1 fan, and aways enjoyed football season and a cold Bud Light!
He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Hazel Huston, one sister, Linda Nichols (Huston), one cousin, Alfred Chain, and one nephew, James Day.
He is survived by his wife, Tonya Huston, of the home, as well as their dog, and best company you could ask for, Sooner. One sister, Shirley Day (Huston) and husband Bobby Day, of Bethany, Oklahoma. Neice, Shawna Sewell (Day), husband, Kelly Sewell, and daughters, Dannah and Shayna Sewell, of Yukon, Oklahoma. Nephews, Tony Day, wife, Nickie Day, and daughter Addison Day, of Yukon, Oklahoma; Lester Nichols, wife, Amanda Nichols, and children Luke, Bill, Cameron, and Jaxson Nichols, of Enid, Oklahoma; Matthew Nichols, wife, Amber Nichols, and children, Dylan, Sadie, and Penny Nichols, of Enid, Oklahoma; David Nichols, of Enid, Oklahoma. As well as one aunt, Carol Tucker and family, of Fairview, Oklahoma, and numerous other relatives and friends.
To honor Raymond’s memory, we are holding a Celebration of Life, on September 9, 2023, at 10:00 a.m. at the Longdale School Gymnasium, in Longdale, Oklahoma, with Ministers Fred and J.W. Chain speaking. We invite anyone who knew Raymond to attend his celebration of life.
