Gerald Allan Husted

July 18, 1939 ~ April 3, 2021

Gerald Allan Husted of Blackwell, Oklahoma, died Saturday morning, April 3, 2021, at his niece’s home in Kildare at the age of 81 years.

Gerald Allan Husted was born on July 18, 1939, in Cushing, Oklahoma, to Lee C. and Joyce E. (Pidcock) Husted. He grew up in Blackwell and attended Blackwell Public Schools graduating from Blackwell High School. He furthered his education by attending college in Oklahoma City receiving a teaching certificate. He taught elementary social studies for several years in the Oklahoma City Public Schools. Following his retirement he returned to Blackwell and began working at Starr Lumber before working at Brandt’s Hardware in Ponca City where he enjoyed serving all the customers. He enjoyed painting pictures, making canes and just being on his computer.

He is survived by two sisters, Joyce Pingry of Kildare and Mary Lyons of Okmulgee; a brother, Robert Husted of Blackwell; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; three sisters, Betty Parsons, Imogene Dotson and Toni Gear; and two brothers, Billy and James Husted.

The family will be holding a celebration of life at a later date.
