Barbara Huskey was born June 21, 1967 in South Carolina to Mary Lucille and Glennard Franklin Owens. She passed away December 10, 2017 at Oklahoma City, Oklahoma at the age of 50 years, 5 months and 19 days.
Barbara grew up in the Rock Hills area of South Carolina. She was married to Roger Dale Huskey on March 23, 1982 in Gafnee, South Carolina and they moved to Cheyenne, Oklahoma in 1983. Roger tragically passed away in a car accident in 1985. She later moved to the Merritt community and attended nursing classes at Western Technology Center in Burns Flat where she earned her LPN certificate in 1999. Barbara worked in labor and delivery at Great Plains Regional Medical Center in Elk City for a time. She later worked at the Nursing Registry and was also employed at the Cheyenne Nursing Home, Bell Avenue Nursing Center and was most recently with Elk City Nursing Center until her health began to fail. Barbara's greatest love was being with her daughter and grandchildren and spending time with her dog, Charlie.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, and a sister, Mary Ellen Patterson.
She is survived by her daughter, Crissy Parr and husband, Chuck, Reydon, OK; 4 grandchildren, Ashlee Parr, Lexi Parr, Brailee Parr, and Sadee Huskey, her companion, James Wood, Elk City, OK; and a host of other relatives and friends.
