CW3 (Ret) William Loyd "Hank" Hurley, Lawton, was born March 2, 1925 in St. Jo, Texas to Robert Mason and Nettie Marie [Jones] Hurley. He died July 23, 2014 in Lawton at the age of 89.
A memorial service with full military honors will be held Saturday, August 2, 2014 at 1:00pm at Holy Family Catholic Church. Arrangements are under direction of Whinery-Huddleston Funeral Service.
Hank enlisted in the Army and served as a Paratrooper in the 101st Airborne Division in WWII. He was a Chopper Pilot in the Korean and Vietnam Wars. He was the recipient of many awards throughout his army career, the Purple Heart and the Bronze Star being two of them.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Drusilla Maria Cruse Hurley and a son, William Loyd Hurley II.
Survivors include his two daughters, Patricia M. Hurley and Michele A. Hurley-O'Bannion; six grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
He was loved tremendously by his family. There are not enough words to describe how greatly he will be missed.
