Bonnie (Owens) Hurdelbrink

Bonnie (Owens) Hurdelbrink
December 14, 1955 ~ December 28, 2014

Beloved wife and Mother, Bonnie Owens Hurdelbrink passed away tragically on December 28, 2014, when a fire destroyed her family home in Blanchard, OK. She was deeply loved by her family and friends, touching the lives of everyone she came in contact with, Bonnie will be greatly missed by all.

Bonnie was born in Americus, Georgia and grew up in Albany, Georgia until 1967 when she moved with her family to Bartow, Florida. There she attended Bartow Senior High School, played flute in the band, and graduated in 1973. It was in Bartow, Florida that she married her husband Keith R. Hurdelbrink. Keith entered the US Air Force in 1981 and he and Bonnie traveled all over the United States while Keith was stationed in Florida, Texas, Oklahoma, Mississippi, and Illinois. During Keith's tour of duty Bonnie and the family lived in Japan for 4 years during Keith's tenure. While Keith served in the US Air Force, Bonnie raised their two children Marcie and Keith II.

After Keith's enlistment in the U S Air Force ended in 2001, Bonnie and Keith decided to settle their family in Oklahoma and moved their family to Blanchard, OK, where Bonnie continued to be the catalyst of the family and continued to raise their son and helped raise their three grandchildren Loren, Michaela, and Delaina Beasley. Raising her children and grandchildren was the career that provided Bonnie with the most enjoyment and greatest fulfillment. Both of which she approached with great enthusiasm.

With the opening of the Tri-City Walmart store in 2003, Bonnie decided to pursue a career outside of the home and started working for Walmart where she held a position as an inventory control technician, sales associate, and department manager. Bonnie worked not only for her own pleasure but to help provide an education for her son and contribute to the family activities that spanned throughout the community including Scouting, dance, and other recreational and cultural opportunities for her family.

Bonnie was an active participant in the activities of her children and grandchildren. With her assistance, both her son and grandson became Eagle Scouts and her granddaughters are active participants in both Girl Scouts and dance. Many of the family's vacations were centered on the requirements of one or more of these activities and the family travelled together to Washington, DC, Orlando, FL, and New York, NY to support each other in these activities.

Bonnie is survived by her husband of 38 years Keith, her daughter Marcie Mouser of Moore, OK, her son Keith Hurdelbrink II of Norman, OK, her grandchildren Loren Beasley of Blanchard, Ok, Michaela and Delaina Beasley of Moore, OK, and her brother Jack E. Owens of Orlando, FL.

Bonnie was preceded in death by her parents Jack L. and Shirley Kersey Owens, her sister Leila Owens Hogan, and her younger brother Juan A. Owens.

Friends and Family are invited to share in a celebration of life for Bonnie Owens Hurdelbrink Wednesday January 7, 2015 at 10:00a.m. at Resthaven Funeral Home and Memory Gardens 500 Southwest 104th St. Oklahoma City, OK 73139.
