C.V. Hunter, 80, was born April 4, 1943 in Chickasha, OK to Clarence Vertner Hunter and Helen Grant Hunter, and passed peacefully in his OKC home June 22, 2023 surrounded by his family after 14-years with Alzheimer's disease.
C.V. was a barber for 45 years, retiring from Casady Style Shop 13 years ago. He was an avid runner, fisher and hunter. He excelled at “cowboy action shooting," a sport he was invited to compete in at the Senior Olympics.
Sgt. C.V. Hunter served in the US Army from 1964 to 1966. He was stationed at Ft. Sill. He loved the Army and was offered entry into Officer School but declined in order to focus on his marriage with O'Dean Lynn Riley, who he married in Warr Acres in 1965. They grew up across the street from each other in Bethany. O'Dean was known to tattle on C.V. and her brother Larry, C.V.'s close friend, while they were children.
C.V. is survived by his wife, O'Dean; sons, Chance Victor Hunter and his wife Kristin, and Chase Vincent Hunter and his wife Erin; grandchildren, Malia Tobah Racz, Micah Koli Racz, Coleman Vinson Hunter, London Riley Hunter, Carsen Vale Graham Hunter, Crew Vander Hunter, Liam Willess Racz, Paisley Lilly-Grace Hunter, Sarah Manusina Colton, Case Vaden Hunter, Cross Valor Hunter, Everly May Hunter; many other loving family members; and his beloved dog, Sarge.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and his siblings, Maurice Hunter, Barbara Perrin, Leslie Hunter, and Grant Hunter.
Viewing will be Sunday, June 25, 2023 from 11am-8pm with family present from 5-7pm at Mercer-Adams Funeral Service. Service will be 1:00pm, Monday, June 26 at Mercer-Adams Chapel.
