Celebration of life services for Albert Wayne Hunter, 82, Enid resident, will be held on Saturday, January 25, 2020 at 2:00 pm in Abundant Life Church (1602 E. Chestnut) with Pastor Barak Giles officiating. Military honors will be conducted by the United States Army. Arrangements are under the kind guidance of the Amy Stittsworth Funeral Service.
Al was born on January 1, 1938 in Springer, Oklahoma, the son of Albert A. and Veda B. Scott Hunter, and passed away peacefully on January 15, 2020 in Enid.
Al graduated from Kingston High School with the class of 1956. He attended Southeastern College prior to serving the United States Navy, serving eight years. Al worked at Vance Air Force Base for Serv Air and continued working there until his retirement. Al married Beverly Kay Morgan on May 22, 1964 in Enid. Three children were born to this union, Teresa (Dan) Washburn, Bradley Hunter, and Terry Hunter.
Al is survived by four grandchildren, who absolutely loved their grandfather, Cory (Amber) Hunter, Scott (Marcie) Sierra, Charles Sierra, and Katelyn Zahorsky; seven great-grandchildren, Kimber, Kamryn, Joel, Raelyn, Barrett, Bradley and Benjamin; sister, Yvonne Martin and one niece, Yvette Martin-Love.
Al was a wonderful husband, father and grandfather. He was always there for his family. Al was a devout christian man who truly lived his life the way he believed. He would do anything asked of him to help in the church and did so with great joy. Al helped us all in so many ways, always willing and ready. Al was a very hard worker and worked two jobs most of his life. He was a North Enid Police Officer for many years, a job he truly loved.
He was loved so much by his family and he will be truly missed. We rejoice that he is in Heaven.
The family has suggested memorial donation checks be made payable to Furever Friends.
