Services 12:00 p.m.Saturday August 19, 2017. Powerhouse of Faith Christian Church, 114 N. Oak Street, Ponca City, OK 74601. Bishop J.R. Thompson officiating.

Kennetha Hunt was born in Oklahoma City, OK on December 10, 1964 to the parents of Mayola and Gerald Jones.

Sister Kennetha attended Ponca City Public Schools. She was a color guard (Flag) at Po-Hi where she graduated in May of 1982 and went to NOC and obtained her associates degree. Sister Kennetha worked as a cosmetologist instructor at the beauty college and worked at Conoco and at Smart Style at Wal-Mart Hair Salon in Ponca City, OK.

She attended and was a dedicated member of the Powerhouse of Faith Christian Center. She was also over the kitchen. She loved to serve the Lord.

Kennetha departed this life on August 9, 2017 and she leaves to cherish her memories her dad, Gerald Jones; husband Shannon Hunt; four handsome men sons: Dominque (Dominque) Lawson of San Diego , CA, Byron (LaKresha) Lawson, Zackery Lawson Holroyd, and Donavan (Kelly)Cousins all of Ponca City; Three brothers: Marvel Lawson, Sr., Otis Lawson, Jr. both of Ponca City, and Jarren Jones of Oklahoma City; One sister Celestine Hardiman of Ponca City; and numerous grandkids, aunts and uncles.

Kennetha was a very loving person, she loved everyone she came in contact with. She always gave words of encouragement to anyone that needed it. She also loved her sons; they did no wrong in her eyes. They were her rock. She had her own special bond with all of them. She loved going fishing, cooking and church. She loved getting together with family and friends. She loved doing hair. She had a giving heart.

Kennetha always wanted a granddaughter and she finally got her first granddaughter. She loved all of her grand kids. Her sons and grandkids, whom she lived for, made her day. They always put a smile on her face. She was very caring and loving even to the ones who didn't see her much or talk to her much. We are all going to miss Kennetha and there is no one that can duplicate her in this world.

She had special bonds with her cousins: LaTricia (Tree) and Tiffany (Tiff). They were three peas in a pod. She will be missed dearly. We love you Kennetha.

A funeral service for Kennetha will be held on Saturday, August 19th at 12:00 noon at the Powerhouse of Faith Church in Ponca city. The church is located at 114 N. Oak
