Funeral service for Mrs. Edward R. Humphrey, who was born August 30, 1882, at Shelbina, Missouri, will be at 10 AM Saturday in the First United Methodist Church with the Rev. B. Orville Parham officiating.
Graveside service will be conducted at 1 PM Sunday in the I00F Cemetery at Shelbina, Missouri.
Mrs. Humphrey graduated from Shelbina high school in 1900. In 1903, she graduated from Northfield Seminary at East Northfield, Massachusetts, and attended Mt. Holyoke College at South Hadley, Massachusetts, and the University of Colorado at Boulder, Colorado. She taught English and Latin at high schools in Buda, Illinois, Louisiana, Missouri, Chickasha, Oklahoma, and Shelbina, Missouri.
The former Rose L Miller, she married Edward R. Humphrey September 18, 1911, in Shelbina, Missouri. The couple established their home in Chickasha, Vernon, Texas, Oklahoma City and Amarillo, Texas, prior to moving to Enid in 1925 where he owned and operated the E. R. Humphrey Grain Company with elevators in Renfro, Marshall and Vici.
Mrs. Humphrey was a member of the First United Methodist Church, Chapter Q, PEO and the old Stitchaway Social Club.
Survivors include three nieces, Mrs. Mary Rose Fleming, Manchester, Missouri, Mrs. Helen Wild and Mrs. Jeanette Evilsizer, both of Kansas City, Missouri; and one nephew, John Miller, Florissant, Missouri.
