Lucille Cochran Hummingbird, daughter of Joe and Emma (Killer) Cochran, was born on October 27, 1932 in Adair County, OK and departed this life to be with her Lord on Friday, July 13, 2012 in Stilwell, OK at the age 79 years, 8 months and 13 days.
Lucille married Jake Hummingbird and to this union 4 sons and 1 daughter were born: Stan, Donald, Joe, Deanna and Jacob.
Lucille work for Cherokee Nation Industries for many years. She enjoyed traveling, planting flowers, reading, piecing quilt tops, but most of all spending time with her family. She was a long time member of the Antioch Baptist Church, where she served as church secretary.
She was preceded in death by her parents: Joe and Emma Cochran, brothers: Dutch Vann and Henry Cochran, sons: Joe Bruce Hummingbird and Donald Wayne Hummingbird.
Lucille is survived by a very loving family that includes her husband: Jake Hummingbird of the home in Stilwell, OK, 3 children: Stan Hummingbird and wife LaRhonda of Tahlequah, OK, Deanna Hummingbird and Companion Delbert Swake of Stilwell, OK, Jacob Hummingbird and wife Jennifer of Stilwell, OK, 7 grandchildren: Andria Hummingbird, Stephanie Hummingbird Lander and Husband Shawn, Steven Hummingbird and Companion Jennifer Wallace, Elizabeth Hummingbird, Dustin Stephenson, Maggie Stephenson, Choogie Boy Stephenson, 2 great grandchildren: Hayden Lander and Ruxton Hummingbird, 1 sister: Susie Hummingbird of Stilwell, OK, 2 brothers: Joshua Cochran of Owasso, OK and Mack Cochran of Sapulpa, OK. Several nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends also survive her.
Funeral services were held at 9 am on Monday, July 16, 2012 at Roberts/Reed-Culver Chapel with Bro. Mike Glass officiating. Interment followed at Hummingbird Family Cemetery.
